Thinking About Divorce? Here’s My First Advice to You:

Seek clarity before you make any decisions.

When you’re facing the possibility of divorce, you deserve guidance that protects your future, not pressure, fear, or conflict. When women come to me at this early stage, here’s what I tell them:

  • Focus on where you want to go, not how to fight back.

Divorce can stir deep emotions: anger, confusion, fear. But shifting your attention to your long-term well-being is the key to a healthier outcome.
When the goal becomes “winning,” everyone loses…especially you.

  • Before hiring a litigator, consider Mediation or Collaborative Divorce.

Most women don’t realize they have choices. These options are:

  • typically far less expensive,
  • private and respectful, and
  • designed to reduce stress instead of escalating it.

They also give you more control over the process and the final agreement.

  • If your spouse seems unwilling to cooperate, don’t assume it can’t work.

It’s common to worry that “he’ll never go along with this.”
Experienced mediators and Collaborative professionals are trained to create progress, even when one spouse starts off hesitant or resistant. There are ways forward that don’t require threats, pressure, or court battles.

Divorce doesn’t have to be a war.

With the right option, it can be your path toward clarity, stability, and a stronger future.

If you’re unsure where to begin, I can help you understand your options and choose the process that best protects your well-being.

Divorce doesn’t have to be a battle. It can be a beginning.
