Going through a divorce is one of the most overwhelming experiences a person can face, and when you suspect your spouse hasn’t been fully honest about money, that stress compounds quickly. You may be asking yourself: Is there more than what they’re showing? Where did the money actually go? What am I really entitled to?
Focused Forensic Solutions exists to answer those questions.
We are a forensic accounting firm founded by a former IRS Special Agent, and we specialize in the financial investigations that matter most in divorce. We work alongside your attorney to dig into the numbers, follow the money, and give you the clear, documented picture you need to protect yourself and your future.
Our services for divorce matters include:
Hidden Asset Investigation: We analyze financial records, tax returns, bank statements, and business filings to find assets that may have been hidden, underreported, or moved before or during the divorce process.
Income Analysis: When a spouse controls the finances or is self-employed, their true income is often understated. We uncover what they actually earn to support fair calculations for support and settlement.
Dissipation of Marital Assets: If marital funds were wasted, gambled away, spent on an affair, or transferred to third parties, we document it so your attorney can pursue appropriate relief.
Expert Witness Testimony: When a case goes to court, our findings are presented clearly and credibly, in plain language for the judge, not just the lawyers.
You don’t have to navigate the financial side of divorce alone or in the dark. We are here to make sure you have the facts.
Krista Shelton, CFE, is the founder of Focused Forensic Solutions and a Certified Fraud Examiner with a background that most forensic accountants simply don’t have.
Before founding Focused Forensic Solutions, Krista served as a Special Agent with the Internal Revenue Service, where she conducted complex financial investigations involving fraud, unreported income, and concealed assets. That experience, investigating financial crimes at the federal level, is the foundation she brings to every divorce case she works.
Krista understands how people hide money. She knows the patterns, the paper trails, and the places people think no one will look. In divorce, that knowledge is powerful. Whether your spouse is self-employed, runs a business, deals in cash, or has simply never given you a clear picture of your household finances, Krista knows how to find what’s there and document it in a way that holds up.
She founded Focused Forensic Solutions to give people going through divorce access to the same caliber of financial investigation that was once only available to federal agencies, delivered with clarity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the truth.
Based in Maryville, Missouri, Krista works with clients and family law attorneys nationwide.
