7 Great Summer Books For Divorced Women

See which titles we think make great beach books for divorced women!

Reading is one of my favorite forms of relaxation or education, depending on what my goal is. There are tons of books for divorced women out there from self-help to strategies to commiserations. I like to think of Summer reading as a great time for some relaxation, so grab a book, get some fresh air, and allow yourself to be transported to someone else’s world with these summer reads that we feel will really resonate with you.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Imagine having SEVEN husbands? No thank you. This is a fun easy read.

Wild Game by Adrienne Brodeur

This book is hard to believe and yet it is the memoir of Adrienne and how she was put in the unthinkable position of being her mother’s accomplice in her affair. Beautifully written and thought provoking about mother-daughter relationships.

28 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand

I love everything by Elin, but this book in particular I enjoyed despite the fact that it was about a woman and the love of her lifetime who married someone else.

If being transported to someone else’s world isn’t your thing, here is some real talk from some real women.

Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis

This book will tell you straight how to get your act together. I read this at a time that I really needed it.

You are a Badass by Jen Sincero

Need to get amped up? Jen will do that for you in this confidence-boosting book.

Untamed by Glennon Doyle

You may know how Glennon’s marriage ended up, but this book fills in all the details on how/why. I had so many moments where I had to take a deep breath and pause. Absolute perfection.
And I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you that you MUST read Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I assume you’ve seen the movie, but if you haven’t, watch that after. You’ll fall in love with Liz as she falls in love with herself and her life.  (If you love her writing, bonus read is to grab City of Girls.)

While these tomes weren’t necessarily written as books for divorced women, they sure do hit the mark for many of the changes we go through when we make and live in that decision. Pick one up today and give yourself a little you-time!
